TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has pledged that Tehran will abide by its commitments in the recent nuclear agreement if the other sides live up to their commitments.

He made the remarks during a meeting with German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel in Tehran on Monday.
Rouhani stressed that all parties will benefit from the fulfillment of commitments in the July 14 nuclear pact reached between the Islamic Republic and P5+1 countries- The United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.
The president ruled out the inspections of the International Atomic Energy Agency as a means of building trust between countries.
“The best way for the countries to build trust is to interact based on mutual respect,” he said adding that the best guarantee will be reached when the countries feel that they have “important and effective” relations in economic, cultural, political and social spheres and that they shouldn’t lose them because of trivial issues.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Rouhani said that expansion of relations between Tehran and Berlin in various sectors can pave the way for more closer ties.
He expressed hope that the German government will play a “positive” role to help enhancement of ties between Tehran and other European countries.
On the regional developments, Rouhani said that “economic development and cultural advancement” are the two main factors that can help end terrorism in the Middle East region.
Gabriel, who is also the German economic minister, expressed satisfaction over the nuclear accord and described it as a “starting point” for Iran’s relations with the European countries.
He also echoed giant German corporations’ readiness to return to Iran and cooperate with Iranian partners.
Gabriel added that the German corporations also seek to transfer the necessary technology in order to promote the level of Iranian expertise in different sectors.
